Brownback Encourages Kansans to Seek Reconciliation
Kansas Ag Connection - 11/21/2017

In light of the upcoming holiday season, Governor Sam Brownback released a proclamation urging Kansans to reconcile and make peace with others wherever possible.

The proclamation declares November 19-25, 2017 as a Week of Reconciliation.

"Making peace through reconciliation requires humility, patience, and understanding," Governor Brownback said. "If each of us approach conflict resolution with those values, we can move forward with cohesiveness and harmony."

The proclamation acknowledges the nation faces many trials but harkens to the foundational values of our country.

"Our nation has overcome deep wounds through reconciliation. I hope these words of President Lincoln can resonate deeply within us in the upcoming holidays and always: 'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection,'" Governor Brownback said.
