State conservation meeting on May 14 in Manhattan

By Scout Nelson

The State Conservation Commission (SCC) will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) office at 1320 Research Park Drive in Manhattan.

The SCC consists of five elected commissioners, two ex officio members from Kansas State University Agriculture Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service, and two appointed members from the Kansas Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service.

The KDA Division of Conservation works with the SCC to protect and enhance Kansas' natural resources. They develop, implement, and maintain policies and programs to help local governments and individuals conserve the state's renewable resources.

The meeting is open to the public. For more information, including how to listen via Zoom or to request an agenda, contact the KDA–DOC at kda.doc@ks.gov or 785-564-6620. Special accommodation should be requested at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
