The 2026 K-State Beef Stocker Field Day will be held on September 24 at the KSU Beef Stocker Unit in Manhattan, Kansas. The event will bring together cattle producers, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the beef industry.
The program will feature a Beef Cattle Outlook presentation by Dr. Glynn Tonsor of Kansas State University, offering insights into market conditions and factors affecting cattle producers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about important issues impacting stocker cattle operations.
A key session will focus on Theileria, a tick-borne disease that has raised concerns among cattle producers. Experts from academia, veterinary services, and the cattle industry will share information on its potential effects on stocker cattle health and management.
Additional presentations will cover strategies for improving stocker cattle performance, the use of corn silage in growing and backgrounding programs, and nutrition practices that support calf health before and after weaning. Speakers will also discuss practical cattle management techniques to help producers make informed decisions.
The event will provide opportunities for networking, education, and learning about the latest research and management practices. Organizers aim to equip producers with practical, research-based information that can improve herd performance and operational efficiency.
Participants can register for $30 through September 10, while late and onsite registration costs $40.
