Celebrate ag with KLA benefit auction

By Scout Nelson

On November 20, the Kansas Livestock Association (KLA) Convention & Expo in Manhattan will be the stage for a significant live benefit auction. This event is designed not only as an auction platform but also as a fundraiser supporting various facets of the Kansas agricultural community.

The auction will showcase an array of items that include bull sale credits, livestock equipment, and original artwork. Proceeds from the auction will benefit several organizations including the KLA Political Action Council (PAC), Ranchland Trust of Kansas (RTK), Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF), and Kansas CattleWomen (KCW).

For those who cannot attend in person, the event will be accessible via LiveAuctions.tv, ensuring widespread participation. Among the highlighted donations are bull sale credits from respected producers such as Gardiner Angus Ranch and Fink Beef Genetics, among others.

Additionally, a unique item includes a six-shooter Cimarron Pistolero 45 Long Colt revolver, intricately engraved with the KLA PAC logo, donated by Moser Ranch.

The auction will also feature premium culinary and experiential items. Tyson Fresh Meats has donated a box of Prime strip loins, while the Kansas Regenerative Medicine Center in Manhattan contributed a stem cell procedure.

Experiential donations include a scotch tasting session and a dinner with Kansas Agriculture Secretary Mike Beam, providing unique opportunities for attendees.

Supporting the Ranchland Trust of Kansas, items such as a drone photo and video package, a framed canvas of the Flint Hills, and more will be auctioned.

For the Kansas Livestock Foundation, donations include a large fine art print and essential ranch equipment like a HydraBed toolbox and a Scientific Hay Conserver.

Proceeds from two specific lots will directly support the KCW scholarship fund, helping administer education funds through KLF. These include a historic photograph of the Kansas City Stockyards and a Kansas State University football ticket package.

This auction not only provides a platform for raising funds but also for celebrating the rich heritage and ongoing contributions of Kansas’s agricultural community. It reflects the commitment of KLA and its partners to support and sustain the industry’s future.
