Kansas Beef Council Revives Tailgater of the Game Contest

The Kansas Beef Council (KBC) is bringing back its popular “Tailgater of the Game” program for the 2026 Kansas State University football season. Held at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, the promotion celebrates tailgating traditions while encouraging fans to feature beef at their pregame gatherings.

The contest begins this weekend ahead of the Wildcats’ home opener against Nicholls State University. Fans who cook beef at their tailgates during the first six home games will have the opportunity to compete for prizes and special recognition.

KBC representatives will visit parking lots around the stadium to identify standout tailgates that feature beef on the menu. Selected winners will receive a tabletop, two-burner Pit Boss griddle, a prize banner, and the title of “Tailgater of the Game.”

This year, KBC is partnering with K-State Collegiate Cattlewomen (CCW) to increase fan engagement. Members of CCW will join KBC staff in distributing beef-themed giveaways and entry cards while interacting with tailgaters throughout the parking areas.

One winner will be chosen at each of the first six home games and announced during the second half. The contest gives fans a chance to showcase their tailgating skills and their enthusiasm for Kansas State football.

In addition to weekly prizes, all six winners will be entered into a grand prize drawing at the end of the season. The grand prize includes a Pit Boss smoker and a pair of suite tickets to Kansas State’s final home game on November 21,2026 against the University of Arizona Wildcats.

According to KBC, the program is designed to create memorable experiences for fans while promoting beef as a versatile option for tailgating and outdoor cooking. The initiative also highlights the role food plays in bringing communities together during football season.

Throughout the season, KBC will share updates and winner announcements on its Instagram account, @ksbeef. Fans can also visit www.kansasbeef.org for recipes, cooking inspiration, and additional information about the organization’s programs and activities.
