Kansas Graduates Gain Industry Access

Kansas Graduates Gain Industry Access

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Livestock Association (KLA) is helping recent college graduates build connections within the livestock industry through its Ag Grad Program. The program offers a free one-year KLA membership to eligible graduates who have earned an agricultural or related degree from approved Kansas colleges and universities.

The complimentary membership is designed to support graduates as they begin careers in agriculture, livestock production, animal health, and related industries. Through the program, members receive access to valuable industry resources, market information, educational materials, and professional support services.

Graduates who join the program receive several KLA membership benefits. These include the weekly KLA News & Market Report, the Kansas Stockman magazine, legislative representation, assistance with legal and regulatory compliance, and additional industry services. The program also helps graduates stay informed about issues affecting the livestock and agricultural industries across Kansas and the United States.

KLA officials say the membership program gives young professionals an opportunity to learn more about agricultural policy, market trends, and livestock production while building relationships within the industry. Access to industry updates and educational information can help graduates better understand challenges and opportunities facing agriculture today.

To qualify for the program, applicants must currently live in Kansas and recently graduate from Kansas State University, the K-State College of Veterinary Medicine, Fort Hays State University, or a Kansas community college with an agricultural or related degree.

Community college graduates may participate only if they are not continuing their education at a four-year college or university. The program is intended to support students entering the workforce directly after completing their studies.

The Kansas Livestock Association encourages eligible graduates to apply online by visiting KLA Programs Page. After completing the application, students may email the form to shelbi@kla.org for processing.

Programs like the Ag Grad initiative continue to play an important role in encouraging young professionals to stay involved in agriculture and livestock industries. Industry organizations across the country are working to support the next generation of agricultural leaders by providing educational resources, networking opportunities, and professional guidance.

The free one-year KLA membership provides graduates with a strong starting point as they begin careers in the agriculture and livestock sectors while helping strengthen the future of the industry in Kansas.
