Set to unfold on October 18, the Kansas Water Authority (KWA) will hold an important meeting at the KU Innovation Park in Lawrence. As a body established in 1981, the KWA plays a crucial role in guiding key figures on water policy matters, ensuring the needs of all Kansans are met.
The forthcoming session is expected to be a melting pot of ideas and strategies, with 13 voting members sharing their insights. These members, appointed by either the Governor or Legislative leadership, have the mammoth task of ensuring that water policies are in line with the broader goals of the state. State agency directors participate as ex-officio members, adding to the depth of discussions.
Those interested in the details of the meeting can reach out via phone at (785) 296-3185.
Ensuring accessibility for all, the KWA is proactive in providing accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Anyone needing special arrangements should get in touch with the Kansas Water Office well in advance, ideally five working days before the scheduled meeting.
