The 94th Kansas Junior Livestock Show’s Supreme Female Drive brought together champion breeding females from the cattle, swine, sheep, and goat divisions. The event highlights the importance of breeding livestock and recognizes outstanding youth exhibitors from across Kansas.
Stetson Moubry of Russell County earned supreme champion heifer honors with a Red Angus female that also claimed the top bred-and-owned title. Aubree McCurry of Reno County exhibited the reserve supreme champion heifer, while Josie Beltz of McPherson County placed third overall.
The gilt competition was led by Creo Spears of Dickinson County, whose commercial gilt was selected as supreme champion. Reserve supreme honors went to Gentry Ward of Miami County, while other top placings were awarded to exhibitors from Johnson, Bourbon, and Ellsworth counties.
Anah Higbie of Franklin County captured supreme champion honors in the bred-and-owned gilt division with a Berkshire gilt. Kannon Reiss of Wallace County earned reserve supreme, with additional top-five placings awarded to Evelyn Flory, Calvin McDonald, and Colby Jones.
Brecken Nelson of Greeley County earned supreme champion and supreme bred-and-owned honors in the breeding ewe competition with a Shropshire ewe. Rylee Thomas of Marion County exhibited the reserve supreme ewe, while other top placings were awarded to Lakyn Rookstool and Colyer Williams.
The commercial doe show featured 157 entries, with Avery Franklin of Reno County earning supreme champion honors. Sadie Eggers of Woodson County was named reserve supreme champion, while Kodi McComb, Macey Lay, and Shelby Sprague rounded out the top five.
The Supreme Female Drive showcased the quality of breeding livestock exhibited by Kansas youth and highlighted excellence in genetics, animal selection, and livestock management. The competition continues to promote the next generation of agricultural and livestock industry leaders.
