Lead extension programming efforts at KSRE

By Scout Nelson

K-State Research and Extension (KSRE) is seeking applications and nominations from its current extension professionals for the position of Program Leader Coordinator (PLC). This opportunity enhances statewide extension programming efforts while providing leadership and support to internal stakeholders.

The PLC roles are expanding with two positions in the program areas of family and consumer sciences (FCS) and agriculture and natural resources (ANR). These two-year appointments, beginning in January, offer a $10,000 annual compensation and the potential for renewal. Administrative duties will be integrated into the appointee's existing roles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in bi-monthly KSRE program leadership team meetings.
  • Engaging in North Central Region program leader activities and director meetings.
  • Assisting in screening local agent applicants for FCS and ANR positions.
  • Working with Program Focus Teams (PFT) and Transdisciplinary Team (TDT) leadership.
  • Reviewing and approving PFT/TDT action plans, budgets, and impact reports.
  • Participating in "Programming with a Purpose" and other professional development training.
  • Coordinating internal trainings and supporting professional development.
  • Attending administration team meetings, retreats, and program-related events.

Cheryl Boyer will extend her position for another two-year term, supporting leadership continuity. These roles aim to enhance programming efforts and foster collaboration among specialists, directors, and stakeholders.

Interested professionals should submit applications by December 13. This is a chance to lead impactful programming while contributing to the success of KSRE’s extension initiatives.
