National Cattlemen’s Foundation Announces 2027 Scholarship

Students interested in careers in the beef industry can apply for the 2027 CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship, a program administered by the National Cattlemen’s Foundation and supported by CME Group. The scholarship will award 10 students with $1,500 each to help support their education and career development.

Established in 1989, the scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to the future of food production and the U.S. beef sector. It has helped encourage and support young professionals pursuing careers across a range of agricultural disciplines.

Students studying areas related to the beef industry, including education, communications, production, research, and other agricultural fields, are eligible to apply. The program aims to strengthen the next generation of industry leaders and innovators.

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or full-time undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Additionally, the applicant or a family member must be a member of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA).

The application requires a one-page letter describing career goals in the beef industry, a 750-word essay discussing an industry challenge and potential solutions, and two letters of recommendation. These requirements are intended to evaluate leadership potential, industry knowledge, and commitment to agriculture.

Program organizers say the scholarship provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of key industry issues while showcasing their ambition to contribute to the future of beef production. The initiative continues to support workforce development within the agricultural sector.

Applications for the 2027 CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship must be submitted by October 9, 2026. Scholarship winners will be recognized at CattleCon 2027, which will take place February 2-4, 2027, in Nashville, Tennessee.

By providing financial assistance and industry recognition, the scholarship remains an important resource for students preparing to enter the beef industry. The program continues to invest in future agricultural professionals and support the long-term growth of the sector.
