K-state shines with 10th HEED award for diversity

By Scout Nelson

Kansas State University has won the prestigious Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award for the tenth consecutive year, thanks to its efforts in fostering a campus culture where everyone feels at home, as highlighted by "Insight Into Diversity" magazine.

K-State, a trailblazer among land-grant universities, believes in the power of education for all. They break barriers to ensure every student feels a sense of belonging, providing resources, activities, and financial aid to catapult students towards success, one graduation at a time.

K-State University is fostering a diverse campus community through various programs, including over 400 student organizations, tailored transition programs like KOMPASS for new students, and financial support initiatives like the K-State Land Grant Promise. These initiatives aim to create a tapestry of backgrounds and ideas, fostering a sense of belonging and community among students.

K-State isn't just making waves in Kansas. They're part of an elite league of 109 institutions nationally recognized by “Insight Into Diversity” — the only one in Kansas, no less!

K-State should continue blazing trails, closing gaps, and championing the potential of every student, as diversity is not just celebrated but also crucial for a richer, more successful future for everyone.
