In recognition of the significant contributions of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization to the agricultural community, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has officially proclaimed the week of February 17-24, 2024, as FFA Week throughout the state.
Governor Kelly acknowledges the pivotal role FFA plays in fostering leadership, personal growth, and career success among young individuals interested in agriculture. The FFA Week proclamation aims to celebrate the organization’s achievements, honor its members, and raise awareness about the importance of agriculture in Kansas.
Designated a national week in 1947, the week of George Washington’s birthday, National FFA Week runs from Saturday to Saturday and gives FFA members an opportunity to educate the public about agriculture. During FFA Week, various events and activities are planned across the state to highlight the impact of FFA and promote agricultural education. Schools, communities, and agricultural organizations are encouraged to participate in activities that showcase the accomplishments of FFA members and the vital role they play in ensuring the future of agriculture.
