The agricultural sectors of East Central Kansas and West Central Missouri have faced significant challenges due to prolonged drought conditions.
In response, the Stateline Beef Cattle Conference, a collaborative virtual event organized by Kansas and Missouri extension services, is set to take place on February 26th, 27th, and 29th. This initiative aims to equip farmers and ranchers with the knowledge and strategies needed to recover and rebuild.
With sessions starting at 7:00 p.m., the conference will feature discussions on various pertinent topics. Experts like Tim Schnakenberg will delve into strategies for forage base recovery, while Jaymelynn Farney will focus on the integration of summer annuals into cattle grazing. Thiago Martins is set to provide valuable insights on rebuilding cow herds after a drought.
Registration for the event is free and necessary by February 26th to receive the Zoom links for each session. The conference is designed to be accessible, offering live presentations and recordings for wider distribution. For more details, interested parties can reach out to the Cedar County MU Extension Center.
This virtual gathering underscores the commitment of the agricultural community to overcoming adversity through shared knowledge and support, fostering a resilient future for the industry.
