Kansas State Plans Ag Dean Meetings

By Scout Nelson

Kansas State University is moving forward in its search for a new Dean of the College of Agriculture and Director of Kansas State University Research and Extension (KSRE). The university has scheduled open forums and town hall meetings to allow the public and campus community to meet the four finalists for the position.

The open forums will be held on the Manhattan campus in Regnier Hall on April 17, 22, 24, and 30. Each session runs from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a 30-minute reception. These forums are open to faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders who wish to hear from each candidate about their vision for the future of agriculture and extension programs at K-State.

In addition to the campus events, town hall meetings will be held in Garden City at the STEM Center, Room 1302, at Garden City Community College. These sessions will also take place on April 17, 22, 24, and 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m, with a reception to follow. These meetings offer another opportunity for community members and stakeholders to participate in the selection process and hear directly from the candidates.

Each town hall meeting will be accessible virtually via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Interested individuals can request the Zoom link by contacting Craig Bourne at cbourne@k-state.edu.

KLA encourages its members and agricultural stakeholders to attend these sessions and participate in this important leadership selection process. The input gathered during these events will help guide the future of agricultural education and research across Kansas.
