KJLS and Club Calf Sale Offer Youth Ag Opportunities

KJLS and Club Calf Sale Offer Youth Ag Opportunities

By Scout Nelson

Youth livestock exhibitors can now register for the Kansas Junior Livestock Show (KJLS), which will take place October 2-4 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas. Organizers encourage participants to complete their online entries as early as possible.

Entries must be submitted through www.kjls.net by midnight on August 15 to qualify for regular entry fees. Late entries will be accepted through August 31 but will be charged at twice the standard rate.

The event website includes important information on entry requirements, schedules, scholarship opportunities, and the LEAD contest. Scholarship applications must also be submitted by August 15.

Organizers have announced several schedule updates for this year’s event and recommend that exhibitors review the revised details before attending. The website remains the primary source for event announcements and deadlines.

The Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF) Club Calf Sale will be held October 3 alongside the Kansas Junior Livestock Show. The sale supports youth agricultural programs while providing marketing opportunities for consignors and buyers.

Consignments for the Club Calf Sale are due by September 11. Proceeds from the sale help fund Youth in Agriculture scholarships awarded through the Kansas Livestock Foundation, supporting educational and leadership opportunities for young people in agriculture.

For more information about the KLF Club Calf Sale, contact Stephen Russell at (785) 273-5115. Additional event details, registration information, schedules, and scholarship applications are available at www.kjls.net.

Online entries can be made by clicking here.
