The AFA Leaders Conference offers a valuable opportunity for college students pursuing agriculture and food-related studies to advance their professional and leadership abilities. Set for November 6–9, 2025, at the Sheraton Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri, this four-day event provides a blend of workshops, networking, and interactive learning.
The conference features four Tracks—Motivated Learner, Skilled Learner, Committed Learner, and Accomplished Learner—designed to match students’ college level and leadership growth stage. Through these tracks, delegates cultivate six essential leadership competencies: relationship development, collaboration, career management, cultural EQ, interpersonal IQ, and systems thinking.
Participants gain hands-on experience through sessions covering time management, goal setting, and career exploration. They also have the chance to earn the AFA Leaders Conference Badge, which demonstrates proficiency in leadership and dedication to lifelong learning.
Networking is central to the conference, as students connect with peers and professionals from across the nation. They can explore career paths, internships, and graduate opportunities within the agriculture and food sectors.
In addition to personal development, attendees engage in discussions about innovation and future challenges in agriculture. The event empowers students to become informed, confident leaders ready to shape the future of the ag industry.
