Ag Tech Day Inspires Young Learners

Ag Tech Day Inspires Young Learners

By Scout Nelson

Ag Tech Day is designed as an engaging and educational event for youth and families to explore the future of farming. It offers a hands-on learning environment where participants can discover, test, and understand modern agricultural technologies. The event helps young people learn about career opportunities and workforce needs in agriculture.

The program is a collaboration between Kansas State University, Flickner Innovation Farm, Kansas Center for Agricultural Resources and the Environment, and Kansas 4-H. Together, these organizations aim to promote innovation and awareness about agriculture among students and communities.

Ag Tech Day includes a variety of demonstrations and technology stations. These activities allow participants to explore both current and emerging tools used in farming. Some of the key highlights include the NASA STELLA program, drone flight demonstrations, and robot demonstrations. These activities help show how technology is improving farm management and increasing efficiency.

The event is free and open to the public, making it accessible to everyone. It is especially designed for middle- and high-school-aged youth, helping them understand how agriculture connects with science, technology, and innovation. By participating, students can gain real-world insights into modern farming practices.

The event takes place at Flickner Innovation Farm, located at 1923 Arrowhead Road, Moundridge, Kansas. It provides a practical setting where participants can see technology in action and understand its real-life applications.

For media professionals, many presenters and organizers are available for interviews. Media members who wish to attend are required to RSVP by 3 p.m. on Friday, April 3, by sending an email to media@k-state.edu.

For any additional questions or information, individuals can contact Michelle Geering at geering@k-state.edu.

Overall, Ag Tech Day serves as an important platform to inspire young learners, promote agricultural education, and highlight the growing role of technology in shaping the future of farming.
