Beef Nutrition Highlighted at Championships

Beef Nutrition Highlighted at Championships

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Beef Council continued its partnership with the Kansas State High School Activities Association during the 2026 KSHSAA Wrestling Championships. The event took place on February 27 and 28 across four cities: Overland Park Kansas, Park City Kansas, Salina Kansas, and Hays Kansas.

The championships included competitions from 1A to 6A levels and attracted around 39,600 athletes, coaches, and fans from across the state. This large gathering gave the Kansas Beef Council an opportunity to promote the importance of beef as a source of nutrition for active individuals.

During the event, the council used both digital promotions and on-site activities to share its message. The focus was on connecting beef with strength, performance, and recovery. These efforts helped highlight how beef provides high-quality protein and essential nutrients needed by athletes.

A key part of the campaign was raising awareness about the Sports Nutrition Game Plan. This is a free online tool designed to help athletes, coaches, and families learn about proper nutrition. It offers simple and science-based advice on building balanced meals and including nutrient-rich foods like beef in daily diets.

The program encourages healthy eating habits that support both short-term athletic performance and long-term health. Using clear and easy guidance helps young athletes understand how food choices affect their energy and recovery.

More information about beef nutrition and athlete support programs is available at the official website.

Through its partnership with KSHSAA, the Kansas Beef Council continues to support education about nutrition. These efforts ensure that athletes and their families have access to trusted information that helps them make better food choices and maintain healthy lifestyles.
