Kansas State University's Department of Agricultural Economics is setting the stage for a series of pivotal conferences aimed at ensuring the seamless transition of farm and ranch operations to the next generation.

Scheduled for March 6 in Garden City, March 7 in Great Bend, and March 8 in Manhattan, these Farm and Ranch Transition Conferences are designed to offer practical guidance and resources for agricultural families.

Shannon Ferrell, a respected professor and agricultural law specialist from Oklahoma State University, will lead as the keynote speaker across all venues. His presentation will focus on the crucial aspects of transition planning, offering insights into initiating this vital process.

Attendees will benefit from the expertise of local attorneys and accountants who will delve into the specifics of crafting a solid transition plan.

Participants will also gain valuable information on the Farm Service Agency’s Transition Incentives Program and explore resources offered by the K-State Office of Farm and Ranch Transition. The conferences, running from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., include lunch and materials, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all involved.

The registration fee is $60, with a deadline of March 1 to ensure participation.
