Beef Promotion at Gravel Race Event

Beef Promotion at Gravel Race Event

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Beef Council (KBC) made a strong impact at the 2026 UNBOUND Gravel race held in Emporia. The event brought together endurance athletes and sports enthusiasts, giving KBC an excellent platform to connect with a highly active audience.

At the event, KBC set up an engaging booth that attracted more than 1,500 visitors. A prize wheel activity encouraged participants to take part and win items such as beef sticks, tote bags, and other branded products. This fun activity helped create a friendly atmosphere and opened the door for meaningful conversations.

KBC representatives used this opportunity to share important information about cattle care and sustainable farming practices. Visitors learned about how ranchers protect natural resources, including the Flint Hills, which also served as the scenic backdrop for the race. These discussions helped build awareness about responsible beef production.

Along with sustainability, nutrition was a key focus area. Endurance athletes often require high levels of energy and recovery support. KBC highlighted how beef provides high-quality protein, essential nutrients, and strength for muscle recovery after intense physical activity. This message connected well with participants who understand the importance of proper nutrition.

The interaction between KBC and event attendees helped bridge the gap between agriculture and consumers. By directly engaging with people at a major sporting event, KBC successfully promoted the value of beef in both daily diets and athletic performance.

The overall experience showed the importance of outreach and education programs. By meeting consumers in real-life settings, organizations can better communicate about food sources, sustainability, and nutrition. Events like the UNBOUND Gravel race provide a meaningful way to share these messages.

Such initiatives also highlight how agriculture supports not just food production but also health and active lifestyles. The Kansas Beef Council’s presence at the event strengthened awareness and built a positive connection with a diverse and energetic audience.
