Engaged Kansas, a platform fostering civic engagement and public service, has welcomed two new partners to its coalition. Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership (KARL) and the Kansas Bankers Association (KBA) have joined forces with existing organizations, such as the Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Leadership Center, and League of Kansas Municipalities, to encourage and support individuals interested in local public service.
With over 6,000 elected positions in schools, county commissions, and municipal governments across Kansas, Engaged Kansas aims to demystify the process of becoming a public servant and develop leaders who will drive progress from the grassroots level. By serving as a hub for various like-minded organizations, Engaged Kansas provides a centralized platform to share resources and tools for citizens interested in running for office or engaging in local civic government.
The coalition's mission of fostering civic-minded leadership is strengthened with the addition of KARL and KBA. KARL President Jill Zimmerman emphasizes empowering individuals to create a vibrant, inclusive Kansas. KBA President Doug Wareham emphasizes the banking industry's commitment to political engagement in communities, recognizing its role in maintaining strong and vibrant communities.
Since its launch, Engaged Kansas has seen over 1,100 visitors on its website, www.EngagedKansas.org, accessing the nonpartisan and nonpolicy resources provided by its partner organizations. The expansion of the coalition further amplifies the message of civic participation and encourages local leaders to step forward and make a difference in their communities.
