At the 2024 Kansas Corn Symposium held in Salina, Greg Krissek, a renowned figure in agriculture, was celebrated with the Kansas Corn Impact Award, recognizing his remarkable influence on the state's corn sector. Krissek, who retired in May after a distinguished nine-year tenure as CEO of Kansas Corn, has been a pivotal force in shaping the industry's direction.
Krissek's agricultural career began in the 1990s at the Kansas Department of Agriculture, where he held roles ranging from research analyst to Assistant Secretary of Agriculture. He also held positions at Kansas Corn and Kansas Grain Sorghum associations, ICM, and Kennedy & Coe.
Under Krissek's leadership, Kansas Corn flourished, characterized by strategic collaborations and initiatives that bolstered the organization's stature both locally and nationally. His efforts were instrumental in promoting ethanol and addressing critical regulatory issues, his national advocacy for atrazine, a crucial agricultural input.
