K State Ag Economics Meetings

K State Ag Economics Meetings

By Scout Nelson

Kansas State University is continuing its Agricultural Profitability Conference series with six remaining events scheduled across the state in January and February. These conferences are organized by the Department of Agricultural Economics and focus on improving financial decision making during challenging economic times.

The conferences are designed to share important information on current economic trends, farm policy updates, land values, and planning strategies. Participants will gain knowledge on managing rising input costs and identifying new opportunities that can support long-term financial stability.

Sessions will also focus on stress awareness and mental health, retirement preparation, and succession planning. These topics are important for maintaining healthy operations and planning for the future. Panel discussions will include experts from Kansas State University and other agriculture related agencies who will provide practical and research-based guidance.

Each conference will offer time for open discussion, allowing participants to ask questions and share experiences. This interactive format encourages better understanding and supports stronger planning decisions.

The remaining conference dates and locations include:

  • January 13 — Mankato
  • January 14 — Colby
  • January 15 — Hays
  • February 3 — Garden City
  • February 4 — Kingman
  • February 5 — Erie

Registration fees vary by location. More information and registration details are available at: https://www.agmanager.info/profitability

An online version of the conference will also be offered after the in-person events, allowing wider access to the information shared.

These conferences provide valuable learning opportunities for agriculture businesses looking to strengthen financial planning, reduce risks, and prepare market changes. By sharing research-based insights and practical tools, the program supports better decision making and long-term success across Kansas communities.
