Kansas Corn Symposium 2025 Highlights

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Corn Growers Association (KCGA) is set to commemorate its 50th anniversary at the upcoming Kansas Corn Symposium on January 30, held at the Salina Hilton Garden Inn.

The event promises a comprehensive agenda, beginning with a luncheon that includes a market analysis by noted Grain and Oilseed Analyst Bree Baatz from Terrain Ag.

Post-luncheon activities at the KCGA Annual Meeting will encompass policy discussions and updates from both the KCGA and the National Corn Growers Association. Attendees will engage in discussions on resolutions and participate in elections.

The afternoon session continues with a Succession Planning Workshop, led by attorney Brian Moore of Hanson, Beverlin, and Moore, along with Ashley Westerhold from K-State’s AgKansitions program, and Mike Tholstrup from Farm Management Services Inc.

KCGA CEO Josh Roe expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “We are excited for a full afternoon and evening of speakers, discussion, fun and entertainment as we celebrate KCGA’s 50th Anniversary at the Kansas Corn Symposium.” The event will focus on market dynamics, state and national issues, and transition planning, culminating in a celebratory reception, dinner, and entertainment featuring dueling pianos.

The symposium will also honor significant contributions and milestones, including recognizing the Kansas Corn Yield Contest Winners, participants of the Kansas Corn Corps young farmer program, and graduates from the Collegiate Academy. Founded in 1975 by a group of dedicated growers, KCGA has grown into a formidable voice for corn farmers across Kansas.

The association's influence extends nationally, with several leaders having served as presidents of the National Corn Growers Association and on the NCGA Corn Board. Registration details are available at kscorn.com, marking a year-long celebration of KCGA’s advocacy and achievements in agriculture.
