Kansas Soil Water Conservation Meeting

Kansas Soil Water Conservation Meeting

By Scout Nelson

The State Conservation Commission will conduct its regular public meeting on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The meeting will take place at the Kansas Department of Agriculture office located at 1320 Research Park Drive in Manhattan, Kansas. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual attendance option will also be available.

The State Conservation Commission plays an important role in protecting and improving Kansas’ natural resources. The commission is made up of elected and appointed members representing state and federal agriculture and conservation agencies. These members work together to guide policies and programs that support responsible land use and environmental protection.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Conservation works closely with the commission to develop, maintain, and improve conservation programs. These programs are designed to assist local governments and individuals in managing renewable natural resources. Their efforts help protect soil health, water quality, wildlife habitats, and overall environmental sustainability across the state.

This meeting is part of the commission’s regular board schedule and is open to the public. Community members, students, and interested organizations are welcome to attend and learn more about conservation programs and policy development in Kansas.

Persons who require special accommodations must make their needs known at least 24 hours before the meeting to ensure proper arrangements can be made.

For more information about the meeting, to access the virtual participation link, or to request a copy of the meeting agenda, interested individuals should contact the Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Conservation. They can be reached by email at kda.doc@ks.gov or by phone at 785-564-6620.

This meeting offers a valuable opportunity for the public to stay informed, share interest in conservation efforts, and better understand how statewide policies are created to protect Kansas’ renewable resources for future generations.
