Topsoil moisture supplies rated 29% very short, 39% short, 29% adequate, and 3% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 34% very short, 41% short, 25% adequate, and 0% surplus.

Field Crops

  • Winter wheat condition rated 16% very poor, 18% poor, 35% fair, 28% good, and 3% excellent.
  • Winter wheat planted was 96%, near 92% for both last year and the five-year average.
  • Emerged was 81%, ahead of 67% last year and 74% average.
  • Corn harvested was 94%, near 93% last year, and 90% average.
  • Soybeans harvested was 88%, near 87% last year, and ahead of 78% average.
  • Sorghum harvested was 81%, near 80% last year, and ahead of 72% average.
  • Cotton condition rated 4% very poor, 16% poor, 41% fair, 35% good, and 4% excellent.
  • Cotton harvested was 42%, well behind 63% last year, but ahead of 27% average.
  • Sunflowers harvested was 79%, near 76% last year, and ahead of 70% average.

Pasture and Range

Pasture and range conditions rated 25% very poor, 30% poor, 34% fair, 10% good, and 1% excellent.
