The meeting will take place at the Western KS Child Advocacy Center – Safe Child Center, located at 212 E. Fifth Street, Scott City, Kansas 67871. It will begin at 9 a.m. and aims to address key water policy issues in the state.

The meeting is open for public awareness, and individuals can access more details and attend online through the official website. For additional information and the online meeting link, visitors can check the Kansas Water Office website at kwo.ks.gov or call (785) 296-3185.

The Kansas Water Authority plays a vital role in guiding water-related decisions in the state. It advises the Governor, Legislature, and the Director of the Kansas Water Office on important water policy matters. The authority also ensures that water policies and programs meet the needs of all people in Kansas. In addition, it supports and advises on the Kansas Water Plan, which can be viewed here.

The KWA was established in 1981 and includes 13 voting members. These members are appointed by the Governor or selected by legislative leadership. State agency directors also take part as ex-officio members. Together, they work to develop solutions for water challenges and improve long-term planning.

Water is an essential resource for agriculture, industries, and communities. Meetings like this help ensure that proper decisions are made for sustainable water management across Kansas.

The Kansas Water Office also ensures that the meeting is accessible to everyone. If any person with disabilities needs special accommodation, they should contact the office in advance. They can reach out at 900 SW Jackson Street, Suite 404, Topeka, KS 66611-1249 or call (785) 296-3185 at least five working days before the meeting.

Overall, the meeting helps strengthen water management efforts and supports the future needs of the state.
