For the week ending December 1, 2024, Kansas reported 5.4 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. The report highlighted field crop progress, moisture conditions, and pasture ratings as the winter season begins.

Winter wheat condition was assessed as:

The cotton harvest was at 79%, slightly behind last year’s 89%, but equal to the five-year average. The sunflower harvest was near completion, reaching 95%, close to last year’s 96% and the five-year average of 97%.
