Kansas Wheat launches scholarships to foster ag futures

By Scout Nelson

Kansas Wheat is dedicating two scholarships, each valued at $1,000, to high school seniors and current college students in Kansas pursuing agriculture. These scholarships honor the legacies of industry leaders Herb Clutter and David Radenberg.

The Herb Clutter Memorial Scholarship, managed by the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers (KAWG), is open to incoming freshmen heading to a Kansas college or university with an agriculture focus.

This scholarship celebrates Clutter’s impact on the Kansas wheat industry and requires a 400-500 word essay on the applicant’s agricultural career aspirations.

The David Radenberg Memorial Scholarship targets current undergraduate or graduate students in Kansas, particularly those interested in wheat-related fields like genetics, agronomics, or plant pathology.

Radenberg’s commitment to wheat research and global marketing is the inspiration behind this scholarship. While applying include an essay and a statement of financial need.

The deadline for both scholarships is March 15, 2024. Applications, along with required documents, must be sent to Kansas Wheat at 1990 Kimball Ave, Manhattan, KS 66502. For apply or to download the scholarship applications, visit https://kswheat.com/growers/outreach/.

Further inquiries can be made by contacting 785-539-0255 or kawg@kswheat.com. These scholarships reflect Kansas Wheat’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders.
