The Kansas Livestock Association (KLA) Convention was a highlight for its members this year, especially during the culmination of the 2024 Top Hand Contest. The Anderson County KLA Committee achieved significant recognition by signing up 15 new members, thus securing the prestigious title of Recruiter of the Year. Their victory grants them a choice between a $300 gift card for western wear or custom silver or leatherwork.
The contest saw enthusiastic participation from various committees. Coming in second place, the Riley County KLA Committee successfully recruited nine new members, demonstrating strong community engagement and dedication to expanding the association’s reach. The contest also acknowledged individual efforts, with commendations going to several recruiters who significantly contributed by bringing new members into the fold.
As an added incentive, all recruiters participating in the 2024 contest were entered into a special drawing. Prizes included a YETI cooler and a $200 gift card from the Kansas City Steak Company, with the Anderson County Committee coming out on top once again. New members weren't left out, as they had the opportunity to win a Blackstone grill through another drawing, enhancing the excitement around membership.
This year’s Top Hand Contest was exclusively sponsored by John Deere, a testament to the strong support from corporate partners in advancing the goals of the KLA. These partnerships not only bolster the association’s activities but also reinforce the community spirit and commitment to growth within the agricultural sector.
The success of the KLA Top Hand Contest highlights the vital role of recruitment in strengthening agricultural communities and fostering a sense of unity and achievement among its members. The efforts of all participants have positively impacted the Kansas Livestock Association, setting a robust example for future recruitment drives and community engagements within the agricultural industry.
