The Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF) is now accepting scholarship applications for Kansas students for the 2024-25 school year. To be eligible, applicants must be Kansas high school graduates planning to attend a Kansas community or senior college in fall 2024.
A range of scholarships are available. The Merck Cartridges for Cash program provides $1,500 for veterinary students at Kansas State University (K-State) and $1,000 for undergraduates in animal science or related fields. Students from Haskell County have a chance to win a scholarship through this program, thanks to local KLA members' efforts.
Other scholarships include $1,000 awards from Hampel Oil/Mobil Delvac for K-State and Fort Hays State University (FHSU) juniors and seniors, and a $1,000 scholarship from GoBob America’s Ranch Equipment for students in their sophomore year or above at any Kansas college.
Equity Bank and Rally House are also offering scholarships of $2,500 and $1,000, respectively, to students at K-State or FHSU.
Funds from the 2023 Kansas CattleWomen (KCW) Silent Auction and KLF Club Calf Sale will support $1,000 scholarships for KCW and Youth in Ag.
Additional scholarships include the $1,500 Douglas A. Laue Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 Glenn & Clyde Lindstrom scholarships, a $1,000 award from Scott Johnson and Family, and a $500 Fred H. Woodbury Memorial Scholarship, with various preferences for applicants' schools and fields of study.
Scholarships are available to interested students, with one application required. To apply, contact Shelbi Wiggs at shelbi@kla.org by April 8. This initiative supports students pursuing a future in agriculture, enhancing their education and career prospects in the Kansas agricultural sector.
