MJE livestock trains skilled rural workforce

MJE livestock trains skilled rural workforce

By Scout Nelson

MJE Livestock Equipment is introducing an apprenticeship program aimed at filling high-demand roles through the Kansas Farm Bureau’s Rural Kansas Apprenticeship Program (RKAP). The program will offer training for positions in welding, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment operation, truck driving, and concrete finishing. Apprentices will be employed by MJE and trained through hands-on experience and technical instruction.

Heather Jantz, MJE’s chief operating officer, highlights the company’s commitment to investing in its workforce. "This apprenticeship program empowers our employees to gain valuable skills, advance their careers and build a brighter future for themselves and their families," says Jantz. The program provides both skills development and career advancement, offering participants a sustainable future in agriculture.

Kansas Farm Bureau (KFB) will act as the intermediary, ensuring a smooth administration of the apprenticeship program alongside the Kansas Office of Registered Apprenticeship. Participants will receive mentorship, hands-on training, and compensation while developing essential skills for agricultural career paths.

This partnership not only supports MJE’s workforce development but also encourages young adults to pursue rewarding careers without having to leave their rural communities. Interested candidates can apply by visiting MJE Livestock Equipment’s website and navigating to the "Apprenticeship Program" section.

By participating in RKAP, young adults in Kansas will gain access to high-demand career opportunities in their hometowns, promoting rural living and long-term economic growth.
