SCC meeting scheduled for august 20

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Department of Agriculture office, situated at 1320 Research Park Drive in Manhattan, will host the State Conservation Commission's (SCC) regular meeting on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Attendance is encouraged from the public who are interested in Kansas' natural resources and conservation initiatives.

The SCC is composed of five elected commissioners, along with two ex officio members from Kansas State University’s Agriculture Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service, and two appointed members representing the Kansas Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.

The KDA Division of Conservation collaborates with the SCC to protect and enhance the natural resources of Kansas through the creation and implementation of policies and programs that support conservation efforts at the local level. This meeting provides an opportunity for public engagement and discussion on these important topics.

For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will also be accessible via Zoom. To obtain more information about the meeting or to request the agenda, interested individuals can contact the KDA Division of Conservation by emailing kda.doc@ks.gov or by calling 785-564-6620. Special accommodations requests should be made at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
