The much-anticipated 111th Cattlemen's Day is scheduled for March 1, 2024, at Kansas State University (K-State). Registrations for this event, including the Stockmen's Dinner and exhibitor or sponsor participation, are now open online.

The day kicks off at 8 a.m. with a trade show and educational exhibits, along with morning refreshments courtesy of New Generation Supplements, Inc. At 10 a.m., a series of welcome addresses will be delivered to Weber 123.

Notable speakers include K-State President Richard Linton, discussing K-State's future strategies, Mike Day, the department head of K-State ASI, and Glynn Tonsor, a professor in agriculture economics, providing an economic outlook of the beef industry.

Lunch will be served in Weber Arena, featuring smoked brisket from U.S. Premium Beef, followed by Call Hall Ice Cream sponsored by Huvepharma in the trade show area.

The afternoon session, starting at 1:30 p.m., will feature a K-State ASI Beef Research Update by the ASI Beef Team. This will be followed by breakout sessions at 2:30 p.m. and a repeat of these sessions at 3 p.m. Topics include value-adding beef cuts, updates in reproduction, and the interplay between wildlife and ranching, presented by experts like Michael Chao, Sandy Johnson, Nicholas Dias, and Drew Rickets.

For those planning an overnight stay, discounted hotel accommodation is available at The Courtyard by Marriott 785-587-1972 with the group code G1741. Reservations must be made by January 25, 2024, to avail of the special rate.

For more details about the event, including registration and the full agenda, interested individuals can contact Katie Smith, the event coordinator, via email at katiesmith@ksu.edu or phone at 785-532-1267.
