The Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City recently held its annual meeting, where Ron Seeber and Kristie Larson were elected as chairman and vice-chairman, respectively. Seeber, the CEO of Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association, Kansas Grain and Feed Association, and Renew Kansas Biofuels Association, has been a prominent figure in legislative affairs and agricultural regulation throughout his career.

Kristie Larson brings her expertise in strategic partnership development from the DeBruce Foundation, with a rich background in agriculture education and industry involvement.

The Council's Board of Directors, consisting of 20 members serving two-year staggered terms, welcomes new faces commencing January 1, 2024. The elected board members for the upcoming term include -

Davin Althoff (Missouri Farm Bureau), Tom Brand, Chelsea Good (Livestock Marketing Association), Terry Holdren (Kansas Farm Bureau), Chris Klenklen (Missouri Department of Agriculture), Jackie McClaskey (American Royal), Amber Oerly (Fulcrum Global Capital), Paul Schadegg (Farmers National Company), Matt Teagarden (Kansas Livestock Association), and Robin Wenneker (Wenneker Properties).

Sarah Kolell (American AgCredit) was elected to fill a mid-term vacancy for a one-year term.

These new directors join the ranks of incumbents like Eric Bohl (Bockorny Group, Inc.), Justin Gilpin (Kansas Wheat), and others, representing a diverse array of agricultural expertise. Bob Petersen and Erica Venancio continue their dedicated service as executive director and director of member services, respectively.

This newly formed leadership team and board are set to spearhead initiatives and strategies to foster growth and innovation in the Kansas City agricultural sector. Their diverse backgrounds and expertise promise a dynamic approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities in modern agriculture.
