New N-Series Planters Bring Flexible Growth

New N-Series Planters Bring Flexible Growth

By Jamie Martin

Massey Ferguson® has expanded its planting equipment portfolio with the introduction of the N-Series Split and Narrow Row Planters. Designed to meet the needs of modern farmers, the new lineup combines advanced planting technologies with a practical and flexible platform.

The N-Series offers six planter configurations, providing growers with multiple choices to match varying crops and field requirements. The lineup supports both split-row and narrow-row planting applications, helping farmers maximize efficiency across different production systems.

A major highlight of the new equipment is the factory integration of Precision Planting® technology. These systems are designed to improve planting accuracy by supporting consistent seed placement and depth control. Uniform planting conditions can lead to even more crop emergence and stronger crop establishments.

"The N-Series was designed for farmers who want proven technology without unnecessary complexity," said Forrest Francis, tactical marketing manager, planters, Massey Ferguson® North America. "It delivers the performance producers need today while giving them the flexibility to adapt as their operation grows. That's how we're helping farmers achieve better — with practical innovation that's straightforward to own, operate and maintain."

The focus of the N-Series is not only on technology but also on simplicity. Rather than adding unnecessary complexity, Massey Ferguson® designed the planter to be easy to operate and maintain. This approach helps farmers gain the benefits of advanced equipment while minimizing operational challenges.

The planter is equipped with twin 45-bushel seed tanks and offers optional liquid fertilizer capacity up to 500 gallons. These features allow operators to spend more time planting and less time stopping for refills. An optional in-cab weight transfer system provides additional convenience during field operations.

Maintenance and serviceability were key considerations during development. Protected hydraulic systems, organized hose storage, accessible service areas, and simplified adjustments help reduce maintenance time. These design improvements can contribute to increased uptime during busy planting seasons.

The N-Series was also developed with long-term ownership in mind. Durable row units and low-maintenance components help support reliable performance year after year. Greaseless operation and straightforward service requirements can further reduce ownership costs.

Another standout feature is the planter's modular architecture. Farmers can add new technologies and capabilities as their operations grow. This scalable approach allows producers to expand planter functionality without replacing the entire machine, creating greater value over time.

Technology upgrade options may include additional systems designed to improve planting performance and field efficiency. This future-ready design enables growers to adapt to changing business needs while protecting their equipment investment.

The launch of the N-Series took place during the 2026 Farm Progress Show, where Massey Ferguson® also displayed updates to its tractor lineup and haymaking equipment. These introductions demonstrate the company's ongoing commitment to helping farmers improve productivity through practical innovation.

With its blend of precision technology, flexible configurations, simplified maintenance, and scalable design, the N-Series provides a comprehensive planting solution. The planter lineup is positioned to help producers improve field performance while maintaining a strong focus on value and ease of ownership.
