The College of Agriculture is fostering education and research by awarding a substantial amount of $75,375 in scholarships, benefiting graduate students enrolled in various programs connected to agriculture.
This initiative highlights the College's emphasis on supporting graduate students, recognizing their significant role in advancing agricultural research and teaching.
Dean Ernie Minton, the College of Agriculture's leader, emphasized the importance of graduate education in the College's mission and praised donors for their philanthropic support in alleviating financial burdens faced by students pursuing graduate studies.
A rigorous faculty review process was implemented to select the deserving scholarship recipients from the pool of applicants. The College extends its thanks to the 42 faculty members who played a crucial role in this selection process.
Several students have been awarded the Robert Nunemacher Scholarship, coming from diverse fields such as agronomy, animal sciences, industry, and entomology. This scholarship illustrates the range of studies and research areas supported by the College.
The Don C Warren Genetics Scholarship has been granted to students specializing in entomology, genetics, and horticulture and natural resources, showcasing the College’s commitment to diverse agricultural sciences.
The Ron Wells Memorial Scholarship and the Nolan and Jean M. McKenzie Graduate Student Fellowship were awarded to students in animal sciences and grain science and industry, respectively.
The Dale W. and Frances V. Rake Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to a student in food science, further diversifying the range of fields supported by the College’s scholarship program.
