Representative Sharice Davids outlined key priorities for rural Kansas during the 11th annual Ag Outlook Forum hosted by the Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City on September 25, 2025. The forum gathered leaders from agriculture, business, and government to discuss the state of the farm economy and new opportunities for growth.
“Here in Kansas, agriculture isn’t just part of our economy — it’s part of our identity. Farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses keep food on our tables and drive growth across the state,” said Davids. “On the Agriculture Committee, I’ve worked to bring those voices to the table and work toward bipartisan solutions that lower grocery costs, strengthen supply chains, support ag research, and keep nutrition programs in place for families."
In her remarks, Davids focused on issues such as tariffs, supply chain disruptions, and potential cuts to agricultural research and food security programs. She emphasized that cooperation across party lines is essential for passing a strong Farm Bill and ensuring certainty for both producers and consumers. Davids also highlighted the need to support biofuels and invest in local supply chain initiatives to help reduce grocery costs.
The forum also featured USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins, USDA Chief Economist Seth Meyer, Senator Roger Marshall, Representative Mark Alford, and leaders from major agricultural organizations. Key panel discussions explored the U.S. agricultural economy, recent tax law changes, and emerging animal health threats such as Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza and the New World Screwworm.
As part of her ongoing Farm Bill listening tour, Davids has visited agricultural operations and renewable energy sites across multiple Kansas counties. She engaged with local communities, participated in youth agricultural programs, and toured facilities focused on sustainable farming and ethanol production.
Through these efforts, Davids continues to advocate for bipartisan solutions, stronger supply chains, and innovative energy programs that support the Kansas farm economy and ensure a secure food system for the future.
