The Kansas Beef Council (KBC), in partnership with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), a contractor to the beef checkoff, has launched a nationwide campaign this fall to deliver specialized nutrition toolkits to healthcare professionals.
The effort is designed to share the science behind beef as a nutrient-rich food and to reach consumers through trusted health advisors.
More than 5,000 family physicians and general practitioners across the United States, including over 100 in Kansas, are receiving these toolkits. Together, they have the potential to reach up to 500,000 consumers with accurate, health-related information about beef.
Each toolkit includes evidence-based research that highlights beef as a high-quality, nutrient-dense protein, clinical takeaways to help doctors translate scientific findings into everyday practice, and easy-to-use patient handouts. These resources guide families in choosing balanced, protein-rich meals that support strength and lasting fullness.
In addition to distributing toolkits, KBC has placed advertisements in three Kansas health professional publications, extending its reach to 4,000 healthcare providers statewide. These ads reinforce beef’s positive nutrition message and keep it top-of-mind among professionals who influence daily food choices.
Healthcare providers are widely recognized as one of the most trusted sources of nutrition advice. By equipping them with reliable, science-backed materials, the program positions beef as a key component of a healthy diet.
This strategic outreach has already demonstrated strong results. Surveys show that after receiving the toolkits, healthcare professionals report an 80% average increase in the likelihood of recommending beef to their patients.
Through this campaign, the Kansas Beef Council strengthens the connection between healthcare providers and the nutritional benefits of beef, ensuring that accurate, evidence-based information helps families make confident decisions about their meals and overall wellness.
