The Kansas Beef Council and K-State Research and Extension invite cattle producers and industry professionals to attend one of three free Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) trainings scheduled across Kansas this fall. These sessions aim to strengthen beef production knowledge and highlight best practices for animal care and handling.
The in-person training events will take place on three different dates and locations for convenient access. The first session is scheduled for September 30 at Carrico Implement in Ellsworth with an RSVP deadline of September 23. The second training will be held on October 22 at the Holton Livestock Exchange, with RSVPs accepted until October 8. The final event will occur on October 28 at the Franklin County Commission Chambers in Ottawa, with an RSVP deadline of October 14.
Each training course begins with a complimentary dinner served at 6:00 p.m., followed by the educational session starting at 6:30 p.m. Space is limited for each location, and advance registration is required. Participants can reserve their spot by calling (785) 273-5225.
During the training, K-State extension beef veterinarian A.J. Tarpoff will provide expert instruction covering essential topics for successful cattle operations. He will focus on cattle care, planning for extreme weather, low-stress cattle handling techniques, and other key aspects of beef production that are critical to animal well-being and overall herd performance.
These Beef Quality Assurance training courses are designed to help attendees enhance their skills and maintain high standards of beef quality and safety. With no cost to participate and a free dinner included, these sessions offer an excellent opportunity for those involved in the beef industry to stay informed and prepared for changing conditions.
