The Kansas Corn, Wheat, Soybean, and Sorghum associations announce the date for the 2026 Kansas Commodity Classic. The annual event takes place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Salina. Registration and breakfast begin before the program starts at 8 30 a m.
The Kansas Commodity Classic is a one-day convention designed to share timely information on key issues affecting crop production. Topics include market trends for long term weather outlooks and federal and state policy updates. The event aims to help producers better understand current challenges and plan for the year ahead.
The convention is free to attend thanks to support from industry sponsors. Registered attendees receive complimentary breakfast and lunch, making the event accessible and welcoming to all participants.
Featured presentations include a market outlook from CoBank economist Tanner Ehmke. An economics and policy session features Kansas State University experts Robin Reid and Dr Jennifer Ifft. A weather outlook is provided by Ross Janssen. Opening remarks are delivered by Kansas Secretary of Agriculture Mike Beam. Farm broadcaster Greg Akagi of WIBW 580 AM serves as the event emcee.
“The challenges facing Kansas farmers evolve every year–especially this year–but the need for reliable, up-to-date information remains constant,” said Kansas Sorghum Producers CEO Adam York. “The 2026 Kansas Commodity Classic will deliver high-level situational awareness and policy briefings directly from the experts, ensuring our state’s producers are better prepared to navigate challenges and opportunities in the coming year.”
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged and is available online. Attendees may also register for additional commodity organization meetings held around the Commodity Classic. The Kansas Corn Symposium and the Kansas Sorghum Producers Annual Membership Meeting and Reception are scheduled for Thursday, January 29. The Kansas Soybean Celebration is planned for Friday, January 30 following the Commodity Classic.
In addition, the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers held its annual meeting earlier this month. This meeting is scheduled for January 16, 2026, at the Kansas Wheat Innovation Center in Manhattan, Kansas. Virtual attendance options are shared with members before the event.
