Kansas Corn Symposium January Event

Kansas Corn Symposium January Event

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Corn Symposium will return on Thursday, January 29, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Salina. This annual event is designed to share knowledge, celebrate achievements, and prepare participants for future crop production challenges.

The program will begin with registration at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Kansas Corn Lunch that allows participants to network and prepare for the day’s sessions. The afternoon will feature a keynote session on artificial intelligence. The keynote speaker will explain how artificial intelligence can become a simple and useful tool for farm operations and daily decision making.

“We are bringing one of the nation’s top artificial intelligence experts to the Kansas Corn Symposium. Whether you’re on the fence about AI or are already using it, you won’t want to miss this session with AI expert Steve Lerch,” said Kansas Corn CEO Josh Roe. “You’ll walk away with a better understanding of artificial intelligence, and AI tools you can use on the farm and in your everyday life.”

Following the keynote session, members of the Kansas Corn Growers Association will hold their annual meeting. During this session, members will review and approve new resolutions for 2026 and elect board members from several regional districts.

The symposium will also include important updates from Kansas Corn organizations. These updates will cover topics such as fuel programs, trade, market development, education efforts, and crop policy issues that affect corn production across the state.

Later in the day, participants can attend a Kansas Corn reception. This session offers time to speak with researchers, industry partners, and program cooperators while enjoying light snacks and beverages.

The evening will conclude with the Kansas Corn Dinner. During this event, Kansas Corn will recognize key achievements and honor Yield Contest winners. Participants are also invited to stay for Singo, a music-based game similar to bingo that offers entertainment, music, and prizes.

The symposium is free to attend due to sponsor support. Preregistration is recommended at kscorn.com/symposium to assist with planning. Attendees are encouraged to stay for the Kansas Commodity Classic on Friday, January 30, at the same location.
