Kansas Pet Animal Board Hosts Virtual Meeting

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Pet Animal Advisory Board will hold its regular quarterly meeting virtually on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The online meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. using Zoom and is open to the public.

Anyone interested in attending can find the meeting agenda and the Zoom link by visiting the department’s website at agriculture.ks.gov/KPAAB. This site provides all the information needed to join the session and stay updated on board discussions.

The Pet Animal Advisory Board meets every quarter to review and discuss topics related to animal facilities inspection and regulations within Kansas. These meetings give the public an opportunity to learn more about the state’s animal health programs and provide input on issues affecting pet animal facilities.

For questions about the meeting, contact Sasha Thomason, director of the animal facilities inspection program, by email at Sasha.Thomason@ks.gov or by calling the Division of Animal Health at 785-564-6601.

Individuals who need special accommodations to participate in the virtual meeting are encouraged to make their needs known at least 24 hours in advance. This ensures that necessary arrangements can be made to allow full participation.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture encourages anyone with an interest in animal health and pet facility regulations to join the meeting. By participating, the public can stay informed about current topics and future affecting pet animal care and regulation across the state.

This quarterly meeting continues the board’s commitment to transparency and collaboration, giving citizens a chance to stay engaged and informed about decisions that support the health and welfare of pets and animals throughout Kansas.
