Kansas State University Announces Fall Field Day Event

Kansas State University Announces Fall Field Day Event

Exciting news for agronomy enthusiasts! Kansas State University is set to host the North Central Kansas Experiment Field Fall Field Day on Thursday, August 17th. The event will commence at 5:30 pm, marking a deep dive into progressive agronomic research tailored for North Central Kansas.

The North Central Kansas Experiment Field stands out for its dedicated research units near Scandia and Belleville. They focus on crafting efficient, profitable, and ecologically-friendly crop production systems. These systems cater to both irrigated and rainfed crop mechanisms prevalent in the region.

Luke Byers, an esteemed Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent from River Valley District, is an advocate for this initiative. He eagerly invites all intrigued parties to join the gathering at 1300 60 Road. For those unfamiliar with the locale, it's a brief two-mile journey north from US Highway 36, close to Scandia.

Adding a cherry on top, Byers announces that not only is the event free of charge, but attendees will also be treated to a complimentary meal as the program wraps up.

The day promises engaging topics from distinguished speakers. Attendees can anticipate discussions on fungicides' role for corn and soybeans, insights on row spacing interplay with herbicide schemes, and an exploration of corn planting timelines and maturity groups.

For further details or to connect directly, you can reach out to Luke Byers at (785) 632-5335 or via email at lsbyers@ksu.edu.

Make sure to mark your calendars for this enlightening event!
