Most Kansas Crop Stocks Down from 2019

Kansas corn stocks in all positions on September 1, 2020 totaled 95.1 million bushels, up 13% from 2019, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Of the total, 17.5 million bushels are stored on farms, up 140% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 77.6 million bushels, are up 1% from last year.

Wheat stored in all positions totaled 429 million bushels, down 9% from a year ago. On-farm stocks of 32.0 million bushels are up 2% from 2019 but off-farm stocks of 397 million bushels are down 10% from last year.

Sorghum stored in all positions totaled 15.3 million bushels, down 67% from 2019. On-farm stocks of 2.20 million bushels are up 29% from a year ago but off-farm stocks of 13.1 million bushels are down 70% from last year.

Soybeans stored in all positions totaled 24.4 million bushels, down 48% from last year. On-farm stocks of 4.20 million bushels are down 24% from a year ago and off-farm stocks, at 20.2 million bushels, are down 51% from 2019.

Oat stocks stored in off farm positions totaled 357,000 bushels, up 17% from a year ago.
