Kansas Ag Connection - 05/25/2023

Saul Vargas Rojas, hailing from Goodland, has been honored with the prestigious GoBob Pipe and Steel Cattlemen's $1,000 Scholarship by the Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF). Vargas Rojas, the son of Manuel Vargas and Ofelia Rojas, is set to begin his sophomore year at Northwest Kansas Technical College. The scholarship's funding was generated through the proceeds from the auction of a GoBob hay feeder at the KLA Convention. GoBob, renowned for its distribution of farm and ranch supplies, including steel pipe, gates, corral and fencing materials, and heavy-duty equipment, contributed to this scholarship.

Furthermore, the KLF awarded two Hampel Oil/Mobil Delvac $1,000 Scholarships to deserving students. Courtney Clinesmith, from Cimarron, will enter her junior year at Kansas State University. She is the daughter of Bill and Stephanie Clinesmith. Jarek Meyer, a resident of Athol, will be a senior at K-State and is the son of Jeffrey and Dawn Meyer. These scholarships were made possible through a generous donation to the KLF by Hampel Oil, a family-operated business with six locations in Kansas.

These scholarships reflect the commitment of the Kansas Livestock Foundation to support and encourage the education and advancement of students pursuing careers in the agricultural industry.
