The 2022 Coolest Thing Made In Kansas - People's Choice tournament on Monday reached its final four products.
Presented by FORVIS, Kansans cast nearly 15,000 votes during the second round of tournament voting that concluded Sunday.
The four products who received the most votes in the tournament's second round of head to head match-ups and are moving on to the final round of voting are:
- Zero-turn riding lawnmower, made by The Grasshopper Company, Moundridge
- Peanut M&Ms, made by Mars Wrigley, Topeka
- Terramac Crawler, made by Ernest-Spencer, Topeka
- Heirloom Rockers, made by Schaffer Furniture, Jetmore
These four products will compete for the most votes during the final round.
Kansans can vote in the final round of the People's Choice tournament until 8 p.m. Oct. 12.
"The Kansas Manufacturing Council launched the Coolest Thing Made in Kansas contest in 2020 to raise awareness about the state's manufacturing industry and the great career opportunities it offers," said KMC Executive Director Brandie McPherson. "The tournament also is a great way to learn about the many products manufactured in Kansas. Some may surprise Kansans."
This year's Coolest Thing Made in Kansas competition also includes the Coolest Innovation category. The KMC announced the four finalists for the new category last month.
The winners of both contests will be announced Oct. 13 during the 2022 Kansas Manufacturing Summit at the Kansas Star Casino and Event Center. The 16 manufacturers featured in the tournament are invited to display their products during the Coolest Celebration Reception the night before the summit.
