The Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Conservation (KDA–DOC) is now offering a special incentive for landowners. Aimed at enhancing water efficiency, the initiative provides financial assistance for the adoption of cutting-edge irrigation technologies.
These include automated mobile drip systems, autonomous pivot setups, water meter monitoring software, bubbler nozzles, and comprehensive remote monitoring tools – soil moisture probes come as part of the deal.
The program's funding springs from the State Water Plan Fund and will be channeled through Conservation Districts statewide. It's essential to note, however, that only projects within Kansas groundwater management districts 1 through 5 are qualified. A crucial stipulation is that equipment and subscriptions must be acquired post KDA–DOC's approval to be eligible.
Aspiring applicants should direct their proposals to local Conservation Districts. For a more in-depth understanding of the program, application support, and a broader view of available services, interested individuals should reach out to their nearby Conservation District office.
