Kansas Farm Bureau Event Features Key Speakers

By Scout Nelson

Kansas Farm Bureau (KFB) will host its 107th annual meeting from December 6–8 in Manhattan, bringing members together to celebrate achievements, learn from experts, and help shape the future of agriculture in Kansas.

“I’m excited we will be gathering soon to conduct the work of the state’s largest general farm organization,” says Joe Newland, president of Kansas Farm Bureau. “I always look forward to once again celebrating with our members, county Farm Bureaus and friends from across the state.”

The meeting will begin on Saturday evening with the KFB Foundation for Agriculture Fundraiser, where attendees will travel back to the Roaring ’20s for a themed murder mystery experience.

The fundraiser supports the End Hunger campaign, which works to increase food security across Kansas. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, and the event will begin at 6 p.m.

On Sunday, attendees will have access to informational workshops, tradeshow exhibits, and a silent auction. Workshop topics include water, energy, succession planning, mental health, and additional issues important to Kansas communities. A full agenda is available at www.kfb.org/annualmeeting.

During the general session, awards will be presented for Friends of Agriculture, Natural Resources, County Farm Bureaus, mental health advocacy, and media contributions.

Later, Sunday, the banquet will honor Farm Families of the Year, Leadership KFB graduates, Casten Fellows, and the organization’s Distinguished Service honoree.

American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall will deliver the keynote address, sharing updates on federal agricultural issues and the importance of strong grassroots engagement.

On Monday, voting delegates will debate and adopt policy statements for 2026. They will also elect the organization’s vice president, Women’s Leadership Committee chair, and board members from odd-numbered districts.
