The Kansas Livestock Association (KLA) has announced the 20 individuals selected for the 2025 Young Stockmen’s Academy (YSA) program. This initiative, sponsored by Merck Animal Health, aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of Kansas’ livestock industry over the coming year.
The program offers unique opportunities for participants to explore various aspects of the beef and dairy industries. Through state-wide tours and interactive sessions, members will learn about the importance of KLA’s role in legislative advocacy, the need for progressive livestock operations, and the responsibility of producers as agricultural advocates.
The program also highlights the connection between animal health suppliers and agribusinesses, and their roles in the food supply chain.
The first meeting of the 2025 YSA class is scheduled for February 18-19 in Topeka. This initial session will set the stage for the year, focusing on key legislative processes and leadership development.
Participants in this year’s class represent diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the program. Their selection reflects a commitment to fostering future leaders in the agricultural sector.
Through collaboration, training, and exposure to the latest industry advancements, the program aims to strengthen Kansas’ livestock industry.
The Young Stockmen’s Academy continues to be an invaluable platform for grooming the next generation of agricultural leaders. Participants will gain insights into the challenges and opportunities within the industry while building lasting relationships with fellow members and industry stakeholders.
This initiative underscores the importance of knowledge sharing and proactive engagement to ensure the sustainability of livestock operations.
